For our French-Australian clients, this kitchen, laundry, and powder room renovation brings a sense of home by blending their French heritage and their Australian lifestyle. With backgrounds in hospitality and a passion for cooking, fine food, and wine—plus a love for entertaining and a strong morning coffee—their brief was to create a kitchen that suited their lifestyle and love of traditional French country style which embraces the imperfections that come with age.
We seamlessly integrated the laundry with matching finishes and fixtures, adding a touch of pastel blue cabinetry and walls to create a laundry you would want to spend time in. It is reminiscent of my client’s nostalgia for laundries in country France with washing hanging out to dry under the trees, rustic french baskets, terracotta tiles and a traditional Butler’s sink. The pretty detailed powder room featuring wainscoting and wallpaper offers a little luxury away from the everyday.
